About

My Story

I have had the honour and privilege of working with children and at-risk youth for many years and it was not until motherhood that I noticed a shift in myself - I experienced extreme mood swings from the highs to the lows and it was the ongoing rage that I decided to seek help. I was eventually diagnosed with major depressive disorder. Even as a healthcare practitioner I did not recognize what was happening to me until much later and that's okay.

My goal is to help parents, especially new parents to navigate the complex emotions they maybe experiencing. That can involve therapy or simply looking into resources together. With mental health, sometimes "little things" may become big things and this could be one of many signs to consider seeking help. â€‹

I have an undergraduate degree in psychology with a graduate degree in social work. My trainings include the following: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Perinatal Mental Health, and Solutions Focused Therapy. I have a clinical background with experience in hospitals and clinics.

Though my specialties are perinatal mental health, new parents, and intergenerational trauma, I have experience in areas such as conflicts in relationships, mental health diagnoses, work life transitions, working with adolescents, children, etc.
